These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Manugram (manugram.com), operated by Manugram ("we", "us", "our"). By registering, accessing, or using the platform in any way, you accept these Terms in full. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

You must be at least 13 years of age to use Manugram. By using the platform, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. If you are using the platform on behalf of a family, organisation, or community, you represent that you have authority to bind them to these Terms.

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
• You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account
• One person may not maintain more than one account without prior written approval
• Accounts created using false information may be terminated without notice

You agree not to post, upload, share, or transmit any content that falls into the following categories. Violations may result in immediate content removal, account suspension, or permanent termination.

4.1 Hate Speech & Discrimination
Content that attacks, degrades, or incites hatred against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, caste, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, nationality, or any other protected characteristic. This includes slurs, derogatory stereotypes, and calls for discrimination.

4.2 Violence & Threats
Content that threatens, glorifies, or incites physical harm against any person or group. This includes terrorist content, calls to violence, graphic depictions of real-world violence, and content that facilitates self-harm or suicide.

4.3 Sexual Content & Nudity
Explicit sexual material, nudity, or pornographic content of any kind. Non-consensual intimate imagery (revenge porn) is strictly prohibited and will be reported to law enforcement. Content that sexualises any individual — living or deceased — is forbidden.

4.4 Child Safety
Any content that sexually exploits, endangers, or harms minors is absolutely prohibited. This includes child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming content, and any material that puts children at risk. Such content will be reported immediately to the National Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and Indian law enforcement authorities.

4.5 Harassment & Bullying
Content intended to intimidate, humiliate, stalk, or persistently harass any individual. This includes targeted personal attacks, doxxing (publishing private information to cause harm), repeated unwanted contact, and coordinated harassment campaigns.

4.6 Misinformation & False Information
Deliberately false or misleading information that could cause public harm. This includes health misinformation, false genealogical claims intended to defame family members, and fabricated histories presented as fact. Content that impersonates real individuals or organisations is prohibited.

4.7 Privacy Violations
Sharing another person's private information — including mobile numbers, home addresses, financial details, or medical information — without their explicit consent. This includes content that enables surveillance, stalking, or identity theft.

4.8 Illegal Content & Activities
Content that promotes, facilitates, or glorifies illegal activities, including but not limited to: drug trafficking, arms sales, human trafficking, financial fraud, gambling, and any content that violates Indian law or the laws of the user's jurisdiction.

4.9 Copyright & Intellectual Property Infringement
Content that infringes on any third party's copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, or other intellectual property rights. This includes uploading copyrighted photos, music, text, or other media without authorisation. See Section 8 for our copyright reporting process.

4.10 AI-Generated & Deceptive Content
AI-generated content (including deepfakes, synthetic voices, and AI-manipulated images) that is deceptive, impersonates real individuals, or is designed to mislead. In compliance with the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, and emerging Indian DPDP Act requirements, users must clearly label AI-generated content where applicable. Deepfakes of real persons without consent are strictly prohibited.

4.11 Spam & Commercial Misuse
Unsolicited commercial messages, pyramid schemes, chain messages, repetitive posts, or any use of Manugram features for commercial advertising or solicitation without our prior written consent.

How we moderate:
Manugram uses a combination of automated detection systems, user reports, and human review to identify and act on content that violates these Terms. We may act on content proactively or in response to reports.

Removal timelines (in compliance with IT Rules, 2021):

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): Removed within 24 hours of being reported or identified. Reported to authorities.
• Content related to national security, sovereignty, or public order: Acted upon within 24 hours of government/court direction
• Other prohibited content: Acknowledged within 24 hours, resolved within 15 days of complaint receipt
• Copyright complaints: Acted upon within 15 days of a valid DMCA-style notice

Actions we may take:

• Remove or hide the content without prior notice
• Issue a warning to the account holder
• Temporarily restrict posting, commenting, or other features
• Permanently suspend or terminate the account
• Report to law enforcement or regulatory authorities where required

Appeals:
If you believe content was removed in error, you may appeal by emailing contact@manugram.com with the subject "Content Appeal". We will review appeals within 15 days.

You retain ownership of all content you upload to Manugram (photos, names, stories, memories). By uploading content, you grant Manugram a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, display, and distribute that content to the users you authorise through your privacy settings — solely for the purpose of operating the platform.

You represent and warrant that:

• You own or have the necessary rights to all content you upload
• Your content does not infringe any third-party rights
• You have the right to share information about family members you add to your tree
• Your content does not violate these Terms or applicable law

When you add information about other individuals — including living family members — to your tree, you take responsibility for doing so with appropriate care, accuracy, and where required, consent. Manugram provides privacy controls at the platform, tree, and field level. It is your responsibility to use them appropriately. Do not add sensitive information about living individuals (contact details, medical information, financial data) without their knowledge and consent.

Our intellectual property:
The Manugram name, logo, wordmark, platform design, and all original content created by Manugram are our intellectual property. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written permission.

Reporting copyright infringement:
If you believe your copyrighted work has been uploaded to Manugram without authorisation, please send a written notice to contact@manugram.com containing:

• Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed
• The URL or location of the allegedly infringing content on Manugram
• Your contact information (name, email, address)
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised
• A statement that the information in the notice is accurate

We will act on valid copyright notices within 15 days.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms. You may request deletion of your account at any time by emailing contact@manugram.com. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately. Content you have posted may remain if it does not violate these Terms and has been shared with other users.

Manugram is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. All genealogical data on the platform is user-generated — Manugram does not verify its accuracy. See our Disclaimer for full details.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Manugram shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to: loss of data, loss of reputation, or unauthorised access to your information. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed INR 1,000 or the amount paid by you to Manugram in the preceding twelve months, whichever is lower.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India.

In accordance with the IT Act, 2000 and IT Rules, 2021, complaints regarding content or privacy may be directed to our Grievance Officer:

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting a notice on the platform or sending an email. Continued use after the effective date of changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
